A. PATIENT CARE MANAGEMENT
1. Assist in planning of the nursing care and management of the ward/s assigned.
2. Supervises patient care activities in the area of assignment.
3. Assesses, refers, coordinates, and/or resolves all patient care concerns in the areas of assignment.
4. Conducts general rounds to the respective wards/ units.
B. EDUCATION AND TRAINING
1. Reinforcement of orientation to newly hired personnel/ affiliates.
2. Acts as a resource speaker during staff development programs.
3. Initiates/ assists/ participates in nursing research and other related activities.
C. ADMINISTRATIVE
1. Ensured all patient care concerns in the areas of assignment are properly assessed and acted upon.
2. Assists and Supervises accomplishment of special ward/ unit tasks.
3. Monitors accomplishment of reportorial requirements of the areas concerned.
4. Ensures completeness of patient charts and other records prior to discharge.
5. Delegates nursing tasks to Unit Managers ( NURSE II ).
6. Evaluates performance of Unit Managers.
7. Reorts status of ward accomplishment and other concerns to the Department Manager ( NURSE V ).
A. PATIENT CARE MANAGEMENT
1. Manages sitting and walking endorsement in the ward/unit.
2. Directs nursing care in the ward/ unit through utilization of the nursing process.
3. Reviews patient's charts and reports.
4. Coordinates and refers patient and unit needs to appropriate services and personnel.
B. ADMINISTRATIVE
1. Prepares and analyzes staffing needs in the ward/unit.
2. Plans and organizes daily operations in the ward/ unit.
3. Requests, monitors, evaluates the inventory and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
4. Monitors and evaluates the performance of personnel in the ward/unit.
5. Ensures adherence in the implementation of policies, procedures and standards.
6. Attends administrative meetings, updates and seminars.
7. Conducts monthly ward meeting and watcher's meeting.
8. Delegates ward/ unit activites to subordinates.
C. EDUCATION AND TRAINING
1. Orients patients, families, watchers ,student affiliates, clinical instructors, new nursing personnel and other members of the health team.
2. Assesses training needs of nursing personnel and recommends staff development programs.
3. Conducts health promotion activity for patients and significant others.
D. OTHERS
1. Performs other related functions as delegated by the Chief Nurse.

C. REPORTING AND RECORDING
1. Carries out doctor's order.
2. Monitor, documents, and reports patient's symptoms, conditions, and progress of treatment and therapy.
3. Assists NII in the evaluation of performance of the orientees / midwives/ nursing attendants/ nursing affiliates.
4. Encodes rendered services in the Hospital Information system (HIS).
OTHERS
1. designated Charge Nurses shall perform the functions of the Unit Manager in his/ her absence.
2. Attends monthly ward meeting, joint clinical and other meetings as directed.
3. Participates in socio-civic activities of the institution.
