Since the laboratory is in the pre-startup phase, I am assisting in establishing the facility’s operational framework. My primary responsibilities include managing the procurement lifecycle by updating purchase requisitions for critical equipment and consumables, drafting comprehensive SOPs aligned with ASTM standards for coal sampling and proximate analysis, and generating readiness reports that track equipment commissioning and method validation. This role is vital for bridging the gap between facility construction and functional operations, ensuring all administrative systems, safety protocols, and technical documentation are finalized before the lab will be fully operational. Beyond documentation, the role involves the direct supervision of coal sampling operations from stockpiles, trucks, and barges to ensure representative integrity, as well as overseeing the sample preparation process for samples before delivery to the Malita Power Plant laboratory to guarantee that pulverised samples meet strict particle size and moisture specifications for accurate testing.

• Prepared samples for multiple testing techniques, contributing to reliable and consistent analytical results.

• Performed fire assay, cyanide leaching, and AAS analysis to determine concentrations of gold, silver, and copper in ore, tailings, and environmental samples.
• Analyzed process water, tailings, and environmental samples for cyanide content and other relevant parameters.
• Conducted carbon and sulfur analysis using LECO analyzers, ensuring accurate elemental characterization of samples.
• Prepared geochemical samples by drying, crushing, pulverising, and subsampling to ensure accurate analysis.
