Skills and Experiences

  • 04/2018, Department of Agriculture, Northern Mindanao Integrated Agriculture Research Center (DA-NOMIARC), Student Intern for Work Immersion, I learned the different techniques and skills for making organic food in an innovative way using farm-fresh agricultural products in the Food Technology Laboratory. Prepared materials for the germination of the different species of potato tubers along with the conduct of the department’s study on the shortening of the dormancy period of the potato tubers
  • AY 2022-2023, Agriculture Student Council, Appointed Prime Minister, Immense passion for serving the student body of Ateneo Aggies. Proficient in project proposals, documentation reports, and liquidation report-making. Efficient in working hand in hand with the College of Agriculture Administration and the Xavier University College of Agriculture Parents and Faculty Association (XUCAPFA) in all college activities
  • Horseback riding: I grew up as a cowgirl. I learned how to ride, take care of, and treat horses at the age of four. Last June, we established our family business, a horseback riding school—Saddle Dream Stables. As the general manager and instructor, maintaining horse management and customer satisfaction by teaching and sharing our passion for horses with others came naturally for me as I have developed more of my people skills in what I do.
  • I am big on volunteering for experience on nearby farms, which family and friends own. I was taught to plow the field with the help of a carabao, spray fertilizers, plant crops on the fields, cut giant Napier grasses, and prepare them for hay. We had the opportunity to carcass a chicken and a goat, which we enjoyed as our meals after work.
  • As an applicant to the Xavier University Rodeo Enthusiasts, we would visit cattle farms and help out in deworming, dehorning, castrating, and supplementing the vitamins of numerous cattle herds. The cowboys and workers also taught us about proper animal handling and restraining.
  • On beauty and brawns, I participated in rodeo competitions, of which my events were Four Women Carambola, Team Casting, and Tug of War. I was our team’s muse, as was Ms. Rodeo at the Rodeo sa Musuan 2022 garnering 2nd Place.
  • As part of our class, we were taught how to ride a tractor in our Agricultural Engineering class. In our Animal Science major classes, we were taught animal nutrition, innovative feed formulations, administering drugs, ear-tagging, and how to conduct rectal palpation and artificial insemination on cattle, cow milking, drug supplements, and deworming. In the Swine Project, we were taught how to castrate, clip, and remove the teeth and tail of piglets. We were taught manual sheep shearing.
