*Summary* Reports to the Master, and is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel and crew, with a focus on LNG cargo operations and safety.

*Duties and Responsibilities*

*Navigation and Maneuvering:*

* Assist the Master in navigating and maneuvering the vessel safely and efficiently.

* Monitor the vessel's position, course, and speed using navigational equipment.

* Execute maneuvers and conduct safe berthing and unberthing operations.

* *Cargo Operations:*

* Supervise all aspects of LNG cargo handling, including loading, discharge, and custody transfer.

* Ensure compliance with LNG-related safety regulations and industry standards.

* Monitor cargo parameters, and adjust systems to maintain optimal conditions.

* Coordinate with shore personnel and other vessels during cargo transfer operations.

*Safety and Compliance:*

* Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations.

* Monitor safety systems and equipment, and take corrective actions as necessary.

* Conduct risk assessments and emergency drills. * Train and supervise crew on safety procedures.

*Deck Operation and Maintenance:*

* Supervise and assist in deck operations, including mooring, anchor handling, and maintenance.

* Inspect and ensure the proper operation of deck machinery and equipment.

* Maintain and repair deck areas as needed.

* *Bridge and Equipment Operation:*

* Operate and monitor the vessel's navigation, communication, and automation systems.

* Ensure the proper calibration and maintenance of all bridge equipment.

* Respond to emergencies and take appropriate actions.

*Crew Management:*

* Supervise and assign duties to the deck crew, ensuring their safety and proficiency.

* Conduct performance appraisals and provide training as required.

* Maintain a positive working environment and foster teamwork.

*Qualifications*

* Master Mariner's license with an unlimited tonnage endorsement.

* Extensive experience in the operation of LNG tankers.

* Excellent knowledge of LNG cargo operations and safety.

* Strong understanding of maritime and environmental regulations.

* Proven ability to manage and motivate a team.

* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
