Assists the Chief, Medical Administrative Corps (MAC) in carrying out the functions of the Office of the Chief, MAC, particularly by managing the internal administration through the direction, supervision, and coordination of various staff offices. Additionally, it includes reviewing staff actions to ensure they are adequate, properly coordinated, and aligned with the intended directives of the Chief, MAC.
Advises the Commander, CGMED Service on all aspects of operational planning, deployment, and readiness of the Coast Guard Medical Service, formulating strategic plans and policies to ensure the effective use of CGMED resources across PCG operational environments, and collecting, analyzing, and consolidating statistical data relevant to CGMED operations.
Responsible for managing the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring the accuracy, quality, and timely delivery of laboratory tests and services. Supervise laboratory personnel, oversee the proper use and maintenance of resources and equipment, and enforce compliance with health and safety standards.
Advises the Command Surgeon, CGMED Service on all matters pertaining to personnel administration, development and overall human resource concerns within the CGMED Service. Implements plans and programs concerning personnel distribution, placement and other related service. Maintains accurate and up-to-date records and rosters of all CGMED Personnel.
Responsible for supervising and managing the operations of the Clinical Microscopy section, ensuring the accurate, timely, and quality performance of all diagnostic tests.
Responsible for managing the administrative and clerical functions of the office, including the preparation, organization, and safekeeping of official correspondence, reports, and records. Assist in coordinating meetings, tracking communications and taskings, ensuring timely submission of documents, and supporting the efficient flow of information within the office of the Command Surgeon.
Performs laboratory tests and procedures to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. Ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results, maintain and operate laboratory equipment, observe proper quality control and safety protocols, and assist in the preparation of reports and documentation as required by medical staff and administrative offices of QMMC.
