- Performs daily monitoring, support and maintenance of the business application server, data communication infrastructure, business data-centric resources (including computer hardware equipment, software and data protection) to ensure the delivery of ship board system
- Assists the Ship IT Manager to update and document all operation procedures, office manuals, operating equipment inventory list and etc
- Guides subordinate officers to carry out duties effectively through better problems solving techniques and inter-personal communications skill with all organizational levels
- Does on-call to support operations after working hours
- Responsible for the installation, maintenance and end-user support of computer and telecommunications equipment
- Provides correct responses to requests for support by means of for example: making system modifications, site-specific enhancements, reconfiguring systems, training users or operations staff, producing additional documentation, or escalating requests to systems development staff or software suppliers
- Coordinate effort between team members and application maintenance support in ensuring all systems activities are performed and system service level deliverables are achieved
- Proactively monitor the backups process, data centre facilities and performance of the networks
- Perform emergency corrective, preventative maintenance and keep control of all systems
- Assist with technical aspects of project management from coordination, monitoring, management of vendors and control of system related projects including upgrades, new software distributions, anti-virus updates and security patches, while ensuring that change control procedures are followed
