Work History
Inverter Engineer (INGECON SUN 920TL X 360 Volts)
AlterPower Digos Solar, Inc.
06.2022 - 04.2025
Operated and maintained 27 units of central inverters manufactured in Spain (24.759 MWp-AC Capacity in total with eight SCB inputs) in a 28.5 MWp-DC solar power plant (92,232 pcs of 310-watt polycrystalline PV panels), the largest Photovoltaic Plant in Mindanao.
Demonstrated proficiency in understanding the Ingeteam SUN 920 TL (360V output) outdoor central inverter from scratch, despite limited knowledge transfer due to the previous inverter engineer's abrupt relocation to Australia. Assumed the role after promotion and independently mastered system operations.
Developed a comprehensive Excel dashboard to monitor key performance metrics, including Capacity Factor, Generation (kWh), Inverter/Grid Availability, Plant Available Capacity, Inverter Activities, Material Inventory, Weather Status/Forecast, Daily Inverter Data, Budget Proposals, Nodal Monitoring, Spare Usage Tracking, Monthly/Yearly Summary Reports, Interactive graphics for alarm monitoring across 27 inverters.
Identified and resolved 14 out of 25 malfunctioning nodes (when I assumed the role) through root-cause analysis, significantly improving year-to-date generation efficiency.
Drove consistent Year-to-date generation growth (Achieved this despite in year 2024, there are more nodes being offline than in 2023, underscoring commitment to system reliability and operational efficiency. YEAR 2022: 31,793,430 kWh, YEAR 2023: 42,742,407 kWh, YEAR 2024 (under tenure): 40,351,446 kWh.
Successfully resolved 508 inverter alarms, including critical issues such as: 0003H: Grid frequency/voltage out of spec (12 instances), 7FFFH: Consecutive branch faults/contactor errors (127 instances), 0040H: Hardware faults (ADC errors, LVRT kit issues) (57 instances), 0100H: Current range/AC protector faults (5 instances), 0200H: DC fuse/arrester failures (72 instances), 8000H: Low-voltage shutdowns (21 instances), 1000H: Manual shutdown due to the emergency push-button, the display or communications or a badly closed door on the unit (119 instances), 4000H: High DC input voltage (3 instances), composite faults (0240H, 0340H, 0303H, 2240H, 1300H, 0210H) (92 instances).
Conducted preventive and corrective maintenance, including HVAC filter replacement, inverter cleaning, and re-torquing.
Collaborated with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance.
Ensured efficient operations of a 28.59 MW DC solar farm, expected to expand to 40 MW.
Proficient in analyzing key solar PV performance metrics, including Reference Yield, Array Yield, Final Yield, Performance Ratio (PR), Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF), PV Module Efficiency, Inverter Efficiency, System Efficiency, and Inverter Loading Ratio (ILR).
Delivered 42,742,407 kWh to the NGCP Matan-ao Substation without curtailment, surpassing the budgeted 41,854,189 kWh by 2.12%-demonstrating effective grid integration and operational efficiency.
