Duties and Responsibilities:
· Gives direct nursing care.

· Administers and charts medications and patient’s reaction to medications.
· Instructs patients and families.
· Sees to it the equipment receives proper care and maintenance.
· Discharges patients.
· Teaches and directs nonprofessional nursing personnel.
· Acts as a senior nurse when so delegated.
· Receives and endorses ward equipment and supplies.
· Interprets hospital policies and procedures.
· Gives health teaching.
· Maintains good relationships with other hospital personnel.
· Charts accurately medications and treatment given.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions.
· Observes, address, document, and refer to the physician of signs and symptoms or changes in patient’s conditions.
· Takes and record vital signs.
· Administers medications and treatments as well as performing various nursing procedures as prescribed by a physician or according to established policies and protocols.
· Carries out legal doctor’s order.
· Collaborates with the members of interdisciplinary healthcare team to plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care in consultation with patients and their families.
· Operates medical apparatus and equipment and monitors availability of supplies at all times.
· Prepares the patient and assist physician on therapeutic and surgical procedures.
· Supervises and directs nonprofessional nursing personnel.
· Provides health promotions, education, and counsel patients and their families on health-related issues.
· Ensures the implementation of hospital policies, standards, and guidelines.
· Maintains confidentiality of patients’ charts and files.
· Promotes and participates in providing a safe, hygienic, and therapeutic hospital environment.
