The Role: Analyze Manulife products and Fund Managers in the Asia region and prepare reports and presentations for recommendations to Portfolio Managers and Board members regarding the state of products in Manulife.

Achievements:

• Overhauled 12 processes so far to make them more efficient and accurate, effectively saving a cumulative 24 hours of work across all processes on a monthly basis.
• Overhauled the process of and created Marketing and Distribution reports to be presented to the Board for reporting and recommendation purposes
• Successfully certified internally to conduct Communication Assertiveness trainings as well as conducted 5 trainings regarding communication and presentation skills
• Created the new and efficient process for the Product Team for tracking seed capital expenditures and monitoring them over a period of time

• Developed Excel-automated and VBA macro tools to save hours off of routine monthly tasks for the Business Units (Asia Pipeline monitoring tool and Information Database updates)

• Improved the overall quality rating of the Fixed Income stream of the Manager Research department in Manila from an average of 2.8/4 to 3.8/4 in just three quarters
• Saved a total of 4 working hours per quarter by developing an excel macro which drafts over 60 emails
• Improved efficiency of 75% of tasks by improving and automating the spreadsheets used to prepare them
• Performed and drafted multiple investment reviews on both existing and new investments for clients
• Took over project management of the Investment Review process in Manila

The Role: Monitoring and reporting of the performance of the company’s internal funds known as the Towers Watson Investment Management Funds or “TWIM Funds” for short

• Saved a total of 7 hours quarterly by developing a macro to draft over 100 emails

• Improved on various excel spreadsheets by improving formulas and automating other processes

The Role: Contract hire working under Willis Towers Watson Global Business Services Inc as a supporting role for their data work

• Maintained a quality rating of 3/4 despite the heavy and seasonal nature of work
• Managed to improve a process by improving and automating parts of the spreadsheet used to do the process
• Eventually performed well enough to be absorbed as a full-time employee

The Role: Analysis of various financial statements of listed and unlisted companies in the Latin American region

Achievements:

• Able to produce quality output in a timely manner despite the language barrier (90% of the financial statements were in Spanish)
• Consistently finishing work ahead of the estimated hours required to do them, ultimately resulting in more work being done within a s ingle day
• Successfully presented a mock pitch to top management as part of a competition within the company and won third place
