Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Receives endorsements of patients from outgoing shifts, such as newly transferred in patients, suicidal patients and patients with physical complaints.
2. Attends to personal hygiene of patients such as giving baths and supervisions of over-all grooming of patients.
3. Attends to feeding to patients.
4. Assists the Nurse in giving medication to patients.
5. Assists and performs procedures like collecting, forwarding and saving specimen to the laboratory.
6. Observes and reports patient with unusual behavior.
7. Prevent escapes and accidents of patients by being vigilant at all times.
8. Provides, participate or conducts therapeutic
activities for patients.
9. Assists the care of the dying patients and the care of the body after death.
10. Attends to the cleanliness of the unit including wards, rooms, toilets and storerooms.
11. Acts as messenger, doorkeeper or receptionists.
12. Performs other duties that maybe assigned by the Nurse in the units.
13. Attends meetings, conferences and in-service training programs for personal growth and in active member of Psychiatric Aides and/ or allied organizations.
