- Oversee the day to day functions of the accounting department and ensure adherence to organizational policies and standards.
- Conduct coaching to project staff/project coordinators on fund utilization and management as well as on areas reflected in the audit findings.
- Review and budget check all cash advances and direct payment requests filed by staff and review all liquidations thereafter.
- Prepared payroll and government mandatory deductions on a bi-monthly basis.
- Handles bookkeeping functions for organization's general fund account and other project funds assigned to me by the Executive Director.
- Ensures accounting staff delivers accurate/complete reports in accordance with the Donor and the Organization's standards and requirements.
- Facilitate quarterly organizational cash flow and fund utilization status for all projects.
- Review audit findings made by the accounting staff and discuss these with personnel and monitor compliance to such.
- Facilitate year end organizational audit and coordinate with external auditors sent by funding partners.
- Conduct periodic internal audit to field offices/activities.
- Prepare guidelines, tools,templates, for emerging concern related to finance.
- Facilitate decision making on matters, issues, concerns that are financial or accounting policy in nature such as but not limited to violations or non-compliance to policies. Such matter can be done in consultation with our Executive Director.
- Coordinate with financial institution like Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and banks on matters affecting transactions.
- Atten project/organizational meetings and participate in external activities as recommended by the management.
- Provide support to other departments/organizational activities where my expertise is needed.
