- Support customer returns,qualification,and other engineering evaluation that require failure analysis.
- Perform non-destructive analysis such as optical visual inspection,x-ray,scanning acoustic microscopy.
- Perform destructive analysis such as soldering/desoldering, lead conditioning,deballing/reballing,mechanical and chemical decapsulation, package die level deprocessing,cross sectioning and other FA techniques available in the laboratory.
- Perform basic electrical verification using curve tracer basic bench tools.
- Conduct material analysis such as SEM/EDX,cros-sectioning,wire bond and mechanical testing and other material capabilities that the FA lab may acquire in the future.
- Generate failure analysis report using Microchip on-line analysis databases and create presentation using Microsoft office applications.
- Interface and collaborate with other MCHP cross-functional groups most especially with assembly,Reliability,Test product,Quality assurance,and customer support.
- Meet and drive improvements on failure analysis key performance indicator.
- Improve existing FA procedures and develop new FA techniques or system.
- Observe proper and responsible use of all FA laboratory equipment, hardwares,consumables,and workstations and report any problem encountered timely.
- Observed safely and health protocols and housekeeping during day to day failure analysis activities.
- Support and implements Environmental Management System (EMS) and Quality Management System (QMS)
- Perform other special task assigned to support the Failure analysis operations and MCHP.
