Marc Francis Timbal

I currently hold the post of Bacteriologist IV of the Department of Health - Research Institute for Tropical Medicine, Biologicals Manufacturing Division - Purified Cobra Antivenom Production.

My role is to oversee 23 personnel under the department and to ensure all compliance are met within the sterile production, take lead in the innovation and improvement of production processes, perform highly technical laboratory duties such as Drying of venom, Preparation of immunogen, Plasma Purification , Diafiltration, Formulation of product, Sterile filtration, filter integrity testing and manual sealing of product.

Responsible for assisting the department head and in performing highly technical laboratory duties such as Drying of venom, Preparation of immunogen, Plasma Purification , Diafiltration, Formulation of product, Sterile filtration, filter integrity testing and manual sealing of product.

Responsible for minimal laboratory supervision and performing of upstream processing such as Preparation of bleeding bottles, preparation of chemicals and media, monitoring of sterilization of lab materials, separation and collection of horse blood plasma for the production of Purified Cobra Antivenom.

• Increased efficiency by troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and performing routine maintenance tasks as needed.
• Operated, calibrated, and maintained sophisticated instruments and equipment to facilitate quality laboratory.
