- Performs orientation, dimensional &fit-up inspection prior to any welding activities, check for any pre-weld requirements such as preheating, joint preparation &welder's Qualification.
- In-process welding surveillance to verify compliance to qualified WPS, the electrodes use, the technique, interpass cleaning, temperature & heat maintenance.
- Conduct weld quality control inspection to all completed weld seams for and surface discontinuities & other visible defects evaluation. Also monitoring of post- weld heat treatment/ stress relieving as required.
- Witness welder's performance qualification test and make judgment as per applicable codes. Also, welding procedure qualification test/record & production test record.
- Witness & verification of NDT works by contractors such as PT, MT, RT, UT, vacuum Box inspection & penetrating oil test has been conducted in accordance with ASME , API 650 & API 620 standard requirements.
- Perform destructive test such as pneumatic leak test on reinforcing pads, pontoon blocks, Roof & hydrostatics test on piping & completed tanks.
- Conduct final inspection of completed tanks/ vessel interface with Client representative (PMC) & preparation of punch list for rectification & repairs.
- Conduct final dimensional inspections such as Peaking, Banding, Plumbness, Flatness/Waviness, Shell Roundness & Tank Settlement Inspection in accordance to applicable codes and client's related specifications.
