I have extensive experience in the legal practice. I graduated law at the Universtiy of the East, took the Bar in 1976 and passed it in 1977 with a grade of 84%. Immediately I got employed with the Citizens Legal Assistance Office (now PAO) with offices at Padre Faura, Manila. Worked as trial lawyer with CLAO for 5 years and then went on to private law practive with offices at Quezon City. I only have more or less 5 years in private practive when I immigrated to USA.
Resided in USA until 2012 and then I retired, returned to the Philippines and and petitioned the SC to allow me to resume my practice in the Philippines. It was granted in 2013, and immediately I established the Iledan Mationg Law Offices in Kalibo, Aklan. I then continued my law practice at the current location after my partner died.
With my long years of experience I can safely say that I have become proficient in my work, and enjoyed pursuing my dreams as a lawyer.

Job overview
- Identified issues, analyzed information and provided solutions to problems. This how I approach the issues brought in by a prospective client. I identify whether the claim is valid in law or in equity. In criminal cases, particularly, I make sure that the clients have a valid defenses and can hold out in court. On the prosecution side, I determine if all the elements of the crime are supported by evidence, oral or documentary.
- Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills while managing multiple projects. In law practice, you are inundated with voluminous cases, and I particularly manage my time in an organized way so that all the requirements of the law are complied with, particularly when time is of the essence.
- Demonstrated a high level of initiative and creativity while tackling difficult tasks. Handling a case is quiet time consuming and sometimes financially demanding. Searching and tracking witnesses, securing documents, and site investigation are some that needs to be approached with initiative and creativity.
