Job Descriptions (ER):

• Assesses vital signs, neuro vital signs, collected detailed patient history and noted other signs of patient health to make rapid, informed decisions regarding next steps in patient care.
• Performs cephalocaudal assessment
• Checks fetal heart rates and measures fundal height of pregnant patients
• Performs triage on incoming patients and determined severity of injuries and illnesses.
• Uses ABCDE method to prioritize care for all patients both adults and children in triage capacity.
• Initiates oxygen support to patients as needed
• Initiates trauma and emergency interventions involving serious head injuries, gunshot wounds, and thoracic trauma.
• Dressings of wounds and placing of cervical collar/ leg immobilizer/ splints to fractured bones
• Reports to Resident Doctors on duty the critically ill patients immediately and carries out their orders
• Collaborates with physicians to quickly assess patients and deliver appropriate treatment while managing rapidly changing conditions.
• Prepares, administers and documents medications and intravenous infusions on physician orders.
• Administers medications via oral, IV, and intramuscular injections and monitors responses.
• Requests all laboratory and diagnostic tests ordered
• Performs diagnostic tests and assisted with medical procedures.
• Inserts Intravenous , Foley Catheter, Nasogastric tube as ordered
• Administers ordered medicines to patients including nebulization and skin testing
• Secures consent prior to all procedures
• Performs minor procedures and assisted physicians with ordered procedures such as suturing
• Schedules operations at Operating room based on Consultant ordered schedule
• Attaches patients to ECG machines and cardiac monitor
• Answers codes quickly and orchestrated efficient, skilled medical care.
• Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation and suctioning
• Assists physicians during suturing and endotracheal intubation
• Provides skilled, timely and level-headed emergency response to critically-ill patients.
• Remains calm and productive during life-threatening situations to maximise positive outcomes.
• Monitors vital signs, conducted physical assessments and evaluated laboratory results for strategic care planning.
• Monitors and continually records progress of patients per shift.
• Keeps optimal supply levels in treatment rooms, triage, and other areas to meet typical patient loads
• Advises patients based on doctors’ instructions and advices including home medications to out- patient clients
• Advises exclusive Breastfeeding
• Builds rapport with patients and families to increase comfort level and enhance quality of medical history and relevant personal information.
• Educates patients and families on diagnosis and treatment.
• Supports patients and family members with confident, soothing approach as they handled medical crises.
• Communicates openly and collaboratively with all healthcare staff to organize successful patient care.
• Documents treatments delivered, medications and IVs administered, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Endorses and forwards admitted patients to respective wards
• Explains discharge instructions and arranges or confirmed transportation for patients not admitted to hospital.
• Educates family members and caregivers on patient care instructions.
• Trains new nurses in proper techniques, care standards, operational procedures, and safety protocols.
• Coaches and mentors junior staff to uplift department capabilities

• Provides health teachings and promotes sanitation to the community
• Performs home visit to ill patients in community for delivery of health care services
• Administers vaccines to the children and elderly of the community
• Provides prenatal check up, vaccines and vitamins to pregnant
• Collaborates with the social workers to ensure health care delivery services to the poorest families in the community
• Collects data of the family's health status of the assigned community through meeting with the their leaders
• Reports the health status/situations of the assigned community to the City Health Office

• Assists patients in performance of routine recovery and mobility exercises, providing support when getting in and out of bed as well as walking and stretching.
