
My purpose in applying for the M/MSc in International Finance program at the Asian Institute of Technology is to gain knowledge in the highly-specialized and relevant field of international finance, which will be of paramount importance as the world moves towards seamless cross-border financial transactions, particularly in ASEAN .
As I am an official of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines and thus working in the field of international relations, with focus on Asia and the Pacific, a degree in International Finance will help provide more substantive insights into my work. It will also give me a specialized niche as there are not too many international finance practitioners and experts in the Department of Foreign Affairs.
· Represents the Philippines as Alternate Representative to the United Nations and other international and intergovernmental organizations, engages and liaises with government officials of the host country to strengthen bilateral relations with the Philippines, assists high-level inbound delegations, and provides assistance to and ensures the protection of the rights overseas Philippine nationals in the country of jurisdiction. (As Third Secretary, Vice Consul, and Alternate Representative at the Embassy of the Philippines in Bangkok, Thailand from March 2018 to January 2020 and at the Embassy and Permanent Mission of the Philippines in Vienna, Austria from March 2014 to March 2018)
· Represents the Philippines as Alternate Representative to the United Nations and other international and intergovernmental organizations, engages and liaises with government officials of the host country to strengthen bilateral relations with the Philippines, assists high-level inbound delegations, and provides assistance to and ensures the protection of the rights overseas Philippine nationals in the country of jurisdiction. (As Third Secretary, Vice Consul, and Alternate Representative at the Embassy and Permanent Mission of the Philippines in Vienna, Austria from March 2014 to January 2015)
· Oversaw the financial management operations of the Department of Foreign Affairs, specifically financial policy planning, budget preparation, budget execution, accounting, financial control, and cash management. (As Principal Assistant, then Acting Director, then Acting Executive Director of the Office of Fiscal Management from January 2012 to March 2014)
