Projects

Mechatronics -

  • Measurement System: Developed a series of sensors that measures relative humidity, temperature, and solar intensity to calculate the heat index where it can give readouts independently from a host computer with the use of an integrated display.
  • Light Tracking System: Created a standalone device that tracks light using photoresistors and a stepper motor, enabling over 90 degrees of rotational movement without the need for a host computer.

UMBC Observatory -

  • Universal Adaptor Project: Led development and implementation of a universal adaptor system at the UMBC Observatory, simplifying the mounting of various equipment and sensors on the Telescope.
  • Guide Acquire Module (GAM) Repair: Worked with a team tasked in the restoration and repair of the UMBC Observatory's Guide Acquire Module (GAM). The GAM is essential for both scientific and research purposes, providing useful functions and features with its ability to attach various types of instruments in a single time.

Capstone Project -

  • Worked with a team tasked on improving the design of Blue Green Energy's vertical-axis hydrokinetic to allow the turbine blades to mechanically return to a home position in the event the actuators controlling the blades fail.
