DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Network Planning & Design

• High-Level Design (HLD): Mapping out the fiber route from the Central Office tothe end-users, ensuring optimal coverage of the target "HomePassed" area.
• Low-Level Design (LLD): Creating detailed blueprints that specify the exactplacement of Fiber Distribution Hubs (FDH), Splice Enclosures,and Optical Splitters.
• Splitting Ratio Strategy: Deciding between centralized splitting or distributed splitting to balance cost and signal quality.

Technical Survey & Site Acquisition

• Field Survey: Conducting physical "walk-outs" to verify that the theoretical GPS designs match reality (e.g., checking if a pole is sturdy enough or if a trenching path is blocked).
• BOM Generation: Creating the Bill of Materials (BOM) for the Procurement Manager to order cables, pigtails, patch cords, and cabinets.

Construction & Implementation Oversight

• Splicing Management: Supervising the fusion splicing of high-core-count cables and ensuring the "Splicing Matrix" is followed perfectly.
• Civil Works Coordination: Overseeing trenching, duct laying, and manhole installation to ensure they meet depth and safety standards.
• Quality Control: Ensuring that the "Minimum Bending Radius" of the fiber is never violated during installation to prevent signal loss.

Testing, Commissioning & Documentation

• Link Loss Budgeting: Calculating the allowable decibel loss across the network and verifying it with an OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) and Power Meter.
• As-Built Documentation: Updating the final network maps to reflect exactly what was installed (crucial for getting that 15% retention money released!).
• Acceptance Testing (PAT): Walking the client through the finished network to prove it meets the specified signal strength.
