JOB SUMMARY:

PROVIDES OPTIMAL NURSING CARE THROUGH A PLANNED MULTIDICIPLINARY AND TRANS-CULTURAL APPROACH AIMED AT THE MISSION OF THE HOSPITAL AND MAINTAINING THE CULTURE,VALUES AND PRACTICES.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

*UNDERSTAND THE NURSING POLICIES AND PROCEDURES OF THE HOSPITAL AND ENSURES THAT THEY ARE ADHERED TO.

*CARES FOR PATIENTS IN CRITICAL CONDITIONS. PRIORITIZES THE PATIENTS ACCORDING TO HEALTH CONDITION.

*CONDUCTS PRELIMINARY EXAMINATIONS AND COLLECTS DATA LIKE THE HEIGHT,WEIGHT,VITAL SIGNS OF PATIENT AND REPORTS TO THE PHYSICIAN.

*IDENTIFY PATIENT CORRECTLY BY USING TWO IDENTIFIERS PATIENT FULL NAME AND MEDICAL RECORD NUMBER

*ASSISTS IN VARIOUS PROCEDURES LIKE INTUBATION,CHEST TUBE INSERTION,ETC.

*ADMINISTER MEDICATIONS AND TREATMENTS AS PER DOCTOR'S ORDER.

*ATTENDS TO ANY EMERGENCY SITUATION AND TRIES TO STABILIZE THE PATIENT UNTIL THE DOCTOR ARRIVES.

*PERFORMS EMERGENCY ASSESSMENT DURING PHYSIOLOGIC OR PSYCHOLOGICAL CRISIS OF THE PATIENT IN WHICH THE PRESERVATION OF LIFE IS THE TOP PRIORITY.

*REASSESS THE PATIENT IN REGULAR BASIS TO DETERMINE PATIENT'S RESPONSE TO TREATMENT OR ANY SUBTLE CHANGES OF CONDITION.

*CHECKS FOR ANY ALLERGIES AND MEDICATIONS PATIENT'S CURRENTLY TAKING.

*IDENTIFIES PATIENT'S NEEDS. PLAN AND IMPLEMENTS CARE ACCORDINGLY.

*PREPARE,ADMINISTER AND DOCUMENTS PRESCRIBED MEDICATION, REPORT ADVERSE REACTION TO MEDICATION AN TREATMENTS.

*RESPECT PATIENT'S RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES ACCORDING TO HOSPITAL POLICY AND PROCEDURES.

*ENSURES COMFORT AND SAFETY PATIENT'S AT ALL TIMES.

*INSTRUCT AND EDUCATES PATIENT AND FAMILY.

*ENSURES PROTECTION OF PATIENT'S PRIVACY AND SECURITY OF FILES AT ALL TIMES.

*MAINTAINS MAXIMUM OBSERVATIONAND ACCURATE WRITTEN REPORTS ON ALL PATIENTS UNDER SPECIAL OBSERVATION.

*OBTAINS SPECIMES FOR URGENT LABORATORY INVESTIGATIONS LAID DOWN BY HOSPITAL POLICY.

*PROMOTES OWN PROFESSIONAL GROWTH BY KEEPING INFORMED AND ADHERING TO THE REGULATION OF THE HOSPITAL.

• Conferred with physicians to discuss diagnoses and devise well-coordinated treatment approaches.
