  • Satisfactorily carried out assigned duties by the WHO Representative in Uganda including as Deputy Representative and occasionally as WR a.i./Officer-In-Charge
  • Built a competent and high-performance team of twelve (12) technical and administrative officers, motivated and contributing to set MOH and WHO Country Office objectives focusing on delivering UHC communicable and non-communicable diseases control results.
  • Provided clear guidance that positioned the GPW 13, Country Cooperation Strategy, Program Budget (2022-23 finalized and planning 2024-25), WHA 75, and RC 72 technical briefs towards UCN related resolutions, in the various workplans of WHO Uganda UHC-CN programs.
  • Facilitated the continued delivery of Essential Health Services during health emergencies [C19 pandemic (2020-2022), EBV outbreak (2018-2019), Marburg Virus Disease (2017), Malaria upsurge (2019, 2021, 2022) including other UCN related programs.
  • Supported the adaptation of WHO strategies and guidelines to develop and cost Uganda Zero Leprosy Roadmap, Polio Vaccination R1 and R2 Campaign Plan, C19 Vaccination campaign, C19 Stabilization Plan, Rethinking Malaria Consultation, National Hepatitis Control Strategy,
  • Contributed to finalization of Partners’ Strategic Plans – USAID/PMI Malaria Reduction Activities Plan, Global Fund Fast Track Application, UN System in Uganda
  • Supported WHO work in UN System collaborations: As a member of UN – Program Reference Group (Group of Deputies) promoted engagement in implementation and coordination of United Nations Sustainable Development Conceptual Framework (UNSDCF), Joint Work Plan (JWP), Strategic Priority (SP) and Results Groups (RG). Focal point for WHO in UN support the GoU-National Planning Authority to conduct MTR for National Development Plan III (2021-2025).

  • Successfully led as Chair of the United Nations Program Reference Group (PRG) also known as the Deputies group in Uganda, appropriately advised the Heads of UN Agencies (UNCT), ensured coherence across all strategic priorities (SPs) and outcomes results groups (ORGs), conducted midterm evaluation of UNDAF (2016-2020) that set the tone for the 2020-2025 UNSDCF.
  • Received a United Nations Coordination Team (UNCT)-Uganda’s Vote of Thanks Award in recognition of Outstanding Leadership of the Program Reference Group and advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals (2020).
  • Successfully coordinated and chaired monthly and ad-hoc meetings of the UN Group of Deputies, setting the UNCT's monthly meeting agenda and transmitting and supporting the implementation of UNCT's decisions through appropriate Outcome Results Groups.
  • Facilitated the development of the first ever UN Uganda Joint Work Plan towards Delivering as One UN in Uganda to achieve coordinated support to Government, Partners and Stakeholders to achieve the SDG targets 2016 -2020

  • Facilitated engagement of MOH and partners to secure political commitment at the President's and Uganda Parliament Speaker levels to a malaria free Uganda. On 05 April 2018, the President of Republic of Uganda declared that "Malaria free Uganda is my responsibility". Each UP member also declared "malaria free constituency is his / her responsibility" Presidential Malaria Fund concept note was developed.
  • Facilitated the annualization of Malaria Operational Plan (2016-18) to elaborate 2014-2020 Uganda Malaria Reduction Strategic Plan (UMRSP) at national and sub-national levels.
  • Successfully introduced surveillance as a core malaria intervention as recommended by WHO Global Technical Strategy on Malaria (2016-2030). Deployment of interventions were better targeted leading to 49% reduction in reported malaria deaths and 19% reduction in confirmed cases (2017 -2018). Training on Integrated Vector Management, Entomological Surveillance and Data use for program action facilitated.
  • Led the team that engaged, built capacity, and provided technical assistance for: improved coordination across WCO, National Malaria Control Program; partnership strengthening and advocacy to position MOH as leader and owner in health matters.
  • Supported the Malaria Operational Research Agenda Setting; Promoted timely and quality periodic reporting and accountability through Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Annual reports; Assessed the system for and built capacity for strengthened Uganda Malaria Surveillance, M&E and Operational Research System at national and district levels; developed SME-OR Strengthening Framework and contributed to the WHO Malaria Surveillance Operational Manual (2018).
  • Facilitated routine data analysis and use of weekly malaria data (Malaria Update from DHIS2 and mTrack data) for prompt action at national and district level facilitated. Facilitated country and regional inputs into WHO World Malaria Reports 2016 – to date.
  • Provided technical assistance to develop/adapt, produce and disseminated several strategies, plans, guidelines, training manuals and SOPs including Uganda IVM Strategy and IVM Implementation Guidelines.
