  • Plan, prepare and cook for breakfast,lunch and dinner, in accordance with good practice, following company guidelines and planned working time.
  • Co-ordinate, with the steward/messman and trainess, the serving of food
  • Responsible for high standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness in galley, pantry and mess rooms.

  • Prepare list of requisitions of provisions, galley items and cleaning materials, and submit to master.
  • Report any defective galley equipment immediately to Chief Officer or Master.
  • Stow securely all stores and crates so that they do not shift or move in a seaway.
  • Prepare monthly provision stocks with the assigned officer and submit to Master.
  • Keep an updated inventory list of crockery, stores, utensils and equipment.
  • Give guidelines to new members of catering staff.
  • Carry out any other works as assigned by Master.
  • Train cook-trainee and steward trainee in the art of cooking and serving.
  • To fully comply with the safety & quality system of the company particularly on safety, health and environmental protection
  • To carry out assigned duties in a safe and responsible manner.
  • To fully comply with the conservation of energy and energy saving commitment of the company
