Duties and Responsibilities
> Receive, Label and prepare samples for analysis
(blood, urine, saliva, stool, tissue, etc.) Ensure
samples are stored and handled accordingly.
> Operate and maintain advanced laboratory
equipment such as microscopes, analyzers, and
automated test systems. Accurately analyze test
results and interpret findings.
> Implement quality control measures to ensure
that test results are accurate and reliable. Follow
established guidelines for proper specimen
handling, processing and testing protocols.
> Maintain proper documentation of laboratory
procedures, test results and quality control
records. Ensure compliance with safety
regulations and laboratory accreditation
standards.
> Report results to healthcare providers,
physicians or clinicians promptly and accurately.
Discuss findings with pathologist or other
laboratory staff when necessary to clarify
results.
I. BLOOD BANK SECTION
> DONOR RECRUITMENT, RETENTION
AND CARE OFFICER
> Performs Blood Donation collection as well as
screens donors by verifying donors information and
makes sure that they are fit it donate. Ensuring that
Blood Donations are safe and suitable for use.
> Responsible for Blood Typing, Crossmatching,
Blood Component Preparation and labeling.
> Tasked in managing Blood Inventory and Proper
Handling as well as storage of blood products in
the laboratory.
> Machines Handled: Matrix Gel System CW-2400 &
CC-2400
II. CLINICAL CHEMISTRY SECTION
> Ensures proper handling of samples which involves
proper labeling.
> Analyze chemical substances in blood to measure
levels of electrolytes, enzymes, lipids, glucose,
proteins and other compounds.
> Tasked to perform and maintain controls,
calibration and maintenance of automated
analyzers.
> Machines handled: HETO AU150, BEACON
VChem, EASYLYTE Analyzer, MINDRAY BS-240 &
BA-88A, EAGLENOS Electrolyte Analyzer,
i-STAT1
III. CLINICAL MICROSCOPY SECTION
> Performs urinalysis from its physical examination,
chemical analysis and microscopic examination.
> Process stool samples, Fecal Occult Blood Test
and sputum examination.
> Machines handled: URIT US-50
IV. HEMATOLOGY SECTION
> PHLEBOTOMIST
> Performs Complete Blood Count, Erythrocyte
Sedimentation Rate, Coagulation tests and
POCT tests.
> Responsible for quality control checks on
hematology instruments and reagents to ensure
that they are functioning properly and producing
accurate and reliable results.
> Machines handled: DYMIND DF50, CONBICOUNT

> Testing blood or serum samples for antibodies,
antigens and other markers that indicate immune
responses or immune system dysfunction.
