RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs precision assembly on complex production and repair actuators.
• Adjusts or aligns through shimming and other means of mechanical adjustments specified by blueprint or other specification limits.
• Utilizes a variety of mechanical measuring equipment such as: Dial indicators, calipers and indicating micrometers to obtain proper assembly-build requirements.
• Maintains dimensional accuracy on assemblies utilizing torque wrenches, fixtures, tooling, gages and other measuring devices. Required to work from assembly instructions, both written and oral.
• Performs various test operations on production or repair mechanical or hydraulic actuators using necessary hydraulic, mechanical and electronic test equipment, fixtures and tools.
• Diagnoses common test failures and recommends or performs rework to correct discrepancies.
• Holds problem units for engineering disposition.
• Ensures that units are set up and tested in conformance with current revision letters and brings to the Supervisor’s attention any condition that is abnormal.
• Responsible for testing repair models for conformance to acceptance test procedures that are normally part of his/her expertise.
• Utilizes mechanical or electronic measuring equipment and performs tests to validate the acceptance of the model to current test requirements.
• Order parts as necessary utilizing the RUR. Responsible for proper documentation of parts replaced and work performed on data sheets.
